Botswana Tours

After breakfast in the morning you will be driven north past the equator to the frontier district. From here you will continue to the semi-arid Samburu National Reserve and check-in to your campsite. After lunch at the lodge there will be time for you’re to settle in before your safari adventure. After enjoying an afternoon game drive in the reserve you will return to the Samburu Game Lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.

Day 3: Samburu National Reserve

After breakfast you will set out for a full day of game driving in the reserve. The morning is the most popular game viewing time as the temperatures are low, providing a favourable atmosphere for both the wildlife and us! Lions, cheetahs, and leopards roam the vast grasslands here in search of their next meal. It may be an unsuspecting impala, or even a small warthog! Whatever the players, the spectacle of nature that unfolds here is always awe inspiring!

Day 4: Samburu - Nakuru

After breakfast you will depart for an early morning game drive in the reserve and then make your way to the reserve’s gate. Drive in a southerly direction to the equator, where you will make a brief stop. Here the locals will perform a water demonstration to certify the position of the equator. For a small tip you could be awarded an 'equator certificate'! From here you will drive to Thomson Falls for a photo-stop and then head down into the Great Rift Valley. As you ascend the eastern wall of the valley, lush coffee and tea plantations will reveal themselves and your driver-guides will give you a brief talk about coffee farming in the region. You will later check in at the Merica Hotel for dinner and your overnight stay.

Day 5: Nakuru - Masai Mara National Reserve

Enjoy a full buffet breakfast at the hotel before checking out and driving to the Maasai Mara National Reserve via Narok town. The Mara is home to the Masaai tribe. These proud young warrior-nomads with their plaited hair, red cloaks and spears will challenge your curiosity. The 700-square-mile game reserve is the Africa of your dreams - complete with wild animals grazing amid the superb rolling landscape of gentle hills and acacia woodlands. Check in to your camp and settle in before your first game drive. You will return to the lodge before dark for dinner and your overnight stay.

Day 6: Masai Mara National Reserve

Today you have the opportunity to go on a hot air balloon ride. You'll ascend in the early morning when winds are calmest. Watch as the professional crew fills the balloon with hot air and the big, colorful bag slowly begins to bulge and take shape. Now board the traditional wicker gondola basket while the expert pilot makes final adjustments.
If you opt not to do a balloon ride, you will set out for a full day game drive in the reserve.

Day 7: Masai Mara - Lake Naivasha

Eat a full buffet breakfast at the lodge and then check out. From here you will drive to Lake Naivasha, enjoying lunch at the Mt Long’onot transit hotel en route. From here you will go on a drive to Lake Naivasha, which is the only fresh water lake in Great Rift Valley. Your dinner and overnight stay will be at the Lake Naivasha Chambai Hotel.

Day 8: Crescent Island

Located along Lake Naivasha in the Great Rift Valley, Crescent Island Sanctuary is one of the most beautiful parks in Kenya and is often called Naivasha's “best kept secret”. It is private, secure and patrolled by guides who can accompany anyone who wishes for a guided walk.

Surrounded by water, Crescent Island is actually a peninsula and is accessible by boat from the east or west. One can also access it in under two hours from Nairobi on tarmac road. The sanctuary’s shores host abundant bird life, including huge numbers of pelicans, cormorants and fish-eagles with their haunting cry. There are more animals per acre than any other Kenyan Park. This brings many film companies here.

Day 9: Naivasha – Amboseli

Eat breakfast early in the morning and then drive to the southern part of Kenya, passing the Kenya-Tanzania border along the way. You will arrive in Amboseli National Park in the late evening and then game drive en route to your tented camp. Your dinner and overnight stay will be at the Amboseli Sentrim.

Day 10: Amboseli National Park

You will spend the full day in Amboseli National Park on morning and afternoon game drives. This park is deemed an “animal’s paradise.” Here you can visit a Masai Village and learn about their rich culture (cost not included). In the early evening as the clouds clear you may catch a view of the snow capped dome of Mt. Kilimanjaro. Your dinner and overnight stay will be at the Amboseli Setrium.

Day 11: Amboseli - Tsavo West

After an early morning game drive you will return to your camp for breakfast and then leave Amboseli for Tsavo West Game. Check in at the Ngulia Safari Lodge and have lunch. In the afternoon you will visit the rhino sanctuary and then return to the lodge for dinner and your overnight stay. If you are lucky you may see a leopard!

Day 12: Tsavo West – Mombasa

Today you will eat an early morning breakfast and then drive to Diani Beach in Mombasa. You will have ample time to relax after the long game drives you experienced earlier in your trip! You will arrive at the Southern Palm Resort in the late afternoon and check in.

Day 13-15: Diani Beach

For three full days you will relax at the beach. You will explore the beach, relax, and do some shopping. You may swim and enjoy so many other activities! All your meals will be on a half board basis and your nights will be spent at the Southern Palm Resort.
